About Neil
My name is Neil Inglis. I’m twenty six years old and I’m a Software Development addict. My background, and indeed my day job, is in Java Enterprise Applications in the Telecommunications field but these days I’d classify myself more as a Mac OS X and iPhone developer and those technologies will become the focus of this blog.
I live in the city of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom with my significant other, Ellie.
I’ve shipped three of my own applications for the iPhone
- Escape Pod – allows you to ‘escape’ awkward phone calls
- Alphonetic – NATO Phonetic Alphabet Helper
and the hugely popular but highly embarassing
- Sleeps to Christmas, which comes in both Lite and Premium versions.
as well as numerous applications I’ve written under contract for other companies.
Sleeps to Christmas has enjoyed a lot of success in terms of download numbers and user feedback and I’ve effectively monetized it using advertising, something I’ll be talking about on this blog.
I’m currently working on my first shippable Mac application.
